Kate has seventeen years’ experience in the events industry, working at London’s Business Design Centre (BDC). Her role as Marketing and Communications Director is in addition to heading up sustainability at the BDC, where her recent focus has been on delivering on the Company’s roadmap to net zero and B Corp Certification. It has been her work in this area which lead to her being named a Power 50 Green Champion in 2023 as well as being appointed to isla’s Advisory Board as venue representative. Liaising with the local community and supporting philanthropic activities at the business has long been a passion of Kate’s and a key part of her role, holding positions as a trustee of the BDC’s charitable arm, the Morris Charitable Trust and as a Board Member at local charity, Islington Giving. She works closely with the council as an Anchor Institution on their Reducing Carbon Emissions Group, as well as with Angel Islington’s Business Improvement District team on their Responsible Business Network and as Chair of their Marketing and Culture Group.
